Why is a trust document needed to accredit a trust?
The trust document will identify the grantors and trustees of the trust and verify the revocability of the trust. These details are needed to determine whose individual accreditations are needed to accredit the trust based on its underlying owners’ accredited statuses. If the trust has $5 million in assets, it is accredited regardless of its revocability and owners, and so the trust document would not be needed in this case.
