How can investors be accredited based on a professional letter or attestation?
- Professional letters for individuals, trusts, and other entities can be written or filled out by a qualified professional (attorney, CPA, enrolled agent, or registered broker-dealer/investment adviser).
- These letters will generally require all the same verification information that our verification team would request, but as these professionals might be more familiar with an investor’s finances or entity, a signed letter from the last 90 days would be sufficient for review.
- Letters must be written by an unrelated third party and cannot be self-written. For example, an investor cannot write a letter for himself or have his spouse write a letter, even if they are both CPAs.
- North Capital has a pre-written form letter available if needed, and it can be provided to investors to have their qualified professional complete it on their behalf.
