Why is my Authenticator App code incorrect?
A wrong code error in an Authenticator app is usually caused by incorrect time settings. This can be easily fixed in your device's settings.
- For Android: Open the Google Authenticator app, go to the menu and tap Settings, select Time correction for codes, and tap Sync now. Also check your phone's main settings to make sure Date & Time is set to automatic.
- For iPhone: Go to your phone's main Settings, tap General > Date & Time, and turn on Set Automatically. If it is already on, turn it off, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.
This resolves almost all incorrect code errors.
